Depends on what you call a "music magazine".

I'm someone who doesn't get enraged at magazine lists because musics subjective and all that, but jesus christ that Q list is horrendous.

Take Q:
These are a few:

47 Mastodon – The Hunter
32 Radiohead – The King Of Limbs
31 Beastie Boys – Hot Sauce Committee, Part Two
21 Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds
05 Coldplay – Mylo Xyloto
04 Bon Iver – Bon Iver, Bon Iver
02 PJ Harvey – Let England Shake

GfD is different and not better or worse than any of those albums. (depending on taste)
SW doesn't have 100,000 followers, never had and never will. (I hope not, otherwise he would sound like Arctic Monkeys)  Grin)
Experimenting with BC, IEM, Storm Corrosion, doesn't score a lot of points in the popularity scale.
People like Fripp, Eno, Peter Hammill, groups like Roxy Music, Deep Purple, Led Zep never made those rankings in the day.
Is Grace for Drowning below Gallagher's or Mylo Xyloto? . Who really cares.

As with all such lists, a mixture of "Yes, for sure" amd "WTF?"

Uncut's list appears to have the most credibility. I really like what I have heard from Gillian Welch.

Just seen Classic Rock's top 50 - GfD is in at no. 32 (Mastodon - The Hunter was their No.1)

I expect GfD will be high in sister magazine CRPP's list which appears in the next issue out soon.

making a best of list doesn't mean an album has longevity.

I know is just a matter of different tastes and bla, bla, bla...but in NO way The King of Limbs is better than GfD. Neither The Hunter is.

#47 in Metal Hammer

which is ridiculous really considering it is not in any way a metal record but there you go.

it will almost certainly be no. 1 in my list when I finally finish it!  Grin
