XM can still be obtained as a download here:

http://www.burningshed.com/store/porcupinetree/collection/94/

XMII's distribution rights may not have been obtained by PT and i don't recall Steven ever mentioning the re-release of this.

This should be released for download on Burning Shed.

From earlier threads on this subject, I recall that XM radio owns the rights to the recording and only gave a limited license to PT to sell XM II, therefore it can't be added as a download on burningshed.  Damn shame because it is one of my favorite PT recordings.

There is always the possibility that PT will get the rights back for XMII (several ways it can happen).

However, if it does happen I think a download is more likely than a physical re-release. But you never know, maybe if they get the rights...they'd re-release both together as a double album.

I guess it would be cool, yeah, these are really nice recordings. I was lucky enough to buy XM1 at a gig and a very good friend of mine got XMII from Burning Shed back when I couldn't shop on the internet. Anyway, if they ever re-release it as a double album, they could reorder the tracks then a bit. While I prefer 2 over 1 overall, I have to say 1 holds better together.

I doubt they will be reissued any time soon, but if people continue to make noise and to show interest, they may someday.
This makes me wonder: what about the live recordings of RAH/RCMH?  Are they happening???

I'm sure we'll get something. I just think they want to time the release so it won't interfere with other releases....I think this summer would have been a great time to release a live RCMH/RAH show, but I don't think SW has had time to work on it; between mixing the Blackfield album, the Blackfield tour and finishing his own album, I doubt there was time for it. Maybe it'll be released in the fall, but it won't be alongside the SW album. Honestly at this point, I don't see the RCMH/RAH show(s) getting a release until next year.

Can we please not post eBay links to stuff on here, it has been a forum rule since day one.

If you have stuff to sell, get people to PM you for further details.

Thanks.

I actually just bought XMII on eBay used for $60. (Thankfully the dude selling it also sold me 12 other PT CDs with it.) Smiley
