Open Mind LIVE
18. May 2011 at 23:34

cannot wait to hear OPEN MIND

It can pass the time
It can blow your mind
an idea falls from a porcelain sky
out of the void it comes....from an Open Mind

awaiting HOB Cleveland

Great song... But they haven't been playing it at every gig... So be prepared to hear the much less effective "On The Plane" instead.

They played it last night in DC, and have been for most of end leg of the European tour. Good chance you'll hear it at your show(s).

I love this song, but to be honest I'm not that fond of live versions. I don't mind extra harmonies or some additional parts on backing tapes, but they have the main acoustic guitar on backing tape for this song and that's the part around which pretty much the whole song is structured. I realise it's probably difficult to reproduce accurately live for Aviv but in such case I'd say either simplify the part or drop the song altogether. Having said all that, I love the version with Chris from the 2004 TV appearence.

I just saw a youtube video from the Irving Plaza from a couple of days ago and it appears that Aviv is now playing this part live!

I was there and Aviv played indeed his acoustic part but I also think that the playback was there as well.
The day before in Bochum was the same... The video from the Irving Plaza seems to be without the playback... Just Aviv.

DO want! I'll be seeing them in LA tomorrow and Open Mind, as well as Blackfield are two of the songs I'm most anxious to hear.
