Exciting to hear of new releases, but it's a pity I can't actually read about them without a magnifying glass. That font is really tiny!!!

Adding another question here, I know this is a subject more dependent of Kscope and of course Steven but:
Is there a date or idea of when Deadwing & In Absentia are going to be reissued on dvda?

Thanks.

Anyone knows if those Anathema vinyls were mixed from the start for a vinyl release or are just the cd mastering (even if thats the case its brillind to have it)?

One more fun thing up at BS  Grin Smiley &  Cool

Burning Shed - The all-purpose Burning Shed apron (apron)
Soon to be seen on a catwalk near you, the all-purpose Burning Shed apron makes for a stylish addition to any barbecue, kitchen, workplace or Dexter-esque torture chamber.

Programmed to believe it's a 200gm heavyweight vinyl reissue, the apron is black with a white Burning Shed logo on the front, and is a high quality made to order 'one size fits all' garment (65% polyester and 35% cotton).

I wonder if they will have 25 O'Clock also from The Dukes Of Stratosphear.
I have an old version of The Dukes that has both Psonic Psunspot & 25 O'Clock (Chips From the Chocolate Fireball) Both albums are a lot of fun.
I'm very tempted to get the remastered Psonic just for the hardback package and the new artwork.  Wink

The new NoSound album is up for Pre-order at BS in 2 versions  Smiley Looks  Cool

http://www.burningshed.com/store/kscope/
&
http://www.burningshed.com/store/kscope/product/272/2960/
A new album of radical re-interpretations of Nosound tracks from the band's leader/founder, Giancarlo Erra.

Formed in Italy in 2001, Giancarlo Erra's Nosound create a seductive and original fusion of elements of progressive, ambient and post rock
Regarded by critics and fans alike as one of the most interesting up and coming alt/art rock bands in Europe, the band have released three critically acclaimed albums on Kscope

The Northern Religion Of Things was recorded during the rehearsal process for a unique one-off 'Nosound solo' gig that Giancarlo performed in London in August 2010. Containing no overdubs or edits, the album comprises a selection of the best of these rehearsal recordings.

For this intimate gig, Giancarlo created new arrangements for several classic Nosound tracks using a live setup that enabled him to play keyboards and/or acoustic guitar while also singing and recreating sounds and effects from the original studio albums
No backing tracks were used, only triggered loops and played instruments

This is a special edition package, strictly limited to 200 copies, that includes =

1) The original CD (in jewel case with slipcase, plus 12 page photographic booklet and extended liner notes)

Cool
& this title
Centrozoon - Bigger Space - Live In Germany (dvd-r)
As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Burning Shed brings Centrozoon's Bigger Space back into print.
http://www.burningshed.com/store/label/product/138/3156/
Deleted for over five years, the dvd-r offers a fascinating perspective on the short-lived Bowness, Reuter & Woestheinrich incarnation of the band.
Recorded in the Autumn of 2003 and filmed at a small-scale warm-up performance, Bigger Space is a unique document featuring hidden extras and the beautiful black and white images of photographer Telemach Wiesinger.
This short but compelling release provides an ideal companion to 2004's Never Trust The Way You Are.
Featuring seven songs (one hidden), web links, a photo gallery and an audio outtake from NTTWYA, Bigger Space represents the only time this version of Centrozoon were captured on film and provides an intriguing opportunity to witness a remarkable band in intimate surroundings.
Presented with new artwork, this is available as NTSC Region 0 and should play on most players worldwide
Bigger Space (6:56)
Make Me Forget (4:45)
Pop Killer (3:36)
Skylight (7:21)
Girl Of The Week (3:43)
The Me I Knew (8:13)

Hi,
Thank you for pre-ordering the Flowermouth t-shirt.
We have just heard from our printers that there is going to be a short delay with the supply of these due to the very complex nature of the print.
We're sorry for any inconvenience and should be able to send them out during the first week of August.
Kind regards

Mick Karn, who tragically succumbed to cancer in January of this year, would have been 53 on July 24th, 2011.

To coincide with Mick's birthday, as a treat for fans, a taster for Mick's last completed project (a new Dali's Car EP) is being offered as a download.

Artemis is a re-working of an instrumental from the band's debut album and features new vocal and lyrical contributions from Peter Murphy, as well as additional instrumentation from Steve Jansen, Jakko M Jakszyk and others.

A superb reunion with Peter Murphy, the forthcoming EP, In Glad Aloneness, continues the intense and exotic experiments of the band's cult classic from 1984, The Waking Hour.

(Please note you will be charged a total of £1.25 for this download to cover card transaction fees).

All profits will be donated to Mick's son and wife.

Vinyl / cd  Cool

King Crimson - In The Wake Of Poseidon (vinyl)
http://www.burningshed.com/store/kingcrimson/product/313/3220/
Pre-order now for October 10th shipping
Newly cut from masters approved by Robert Fripp, this super-heavyweight vinyl re-issue is housed in a reprint of the original gatefold sleeve and also contains bonus MP3 codes giving access to a download of a transfer of an original 1970 pressing (in this case, Robert Fripp's personal file copy)
====
+
Slow Electric - Slow Electric (cd)
http://www.burningshed.com/store/artrock/product/119/3221/
Slow Electric is a new project and album from Tim Bowness and Peter Chilvers, and the Estonian duo UMA (guitarist Robert Jurjendal and trumpeter Aleksei Saks)

The album also features King Crimson's Tony Levin, who added his unique bass/chapman stick playing to two of the album's six tracks, and was mixed by ace Zurich-based percussionist/producer Andi Pupato (Nik Batsch's Ronin)

Released on the Panegyric label, Slow Electric's debut builds on California, Norfolk's and Flame's atmospheric 'torch song' styles

From the elegiac opener Towards The Shore to the 5/4 groove of Criminal Caught In The Crime, the quartet combines its collective influences - singer-songwriter, electronica/ambient and European jazz - with gracefully empathetic performances

The Carl Glover designed digipack comes with a booklet featuring sleeve notes by Tim Bowness

All Burning Shed pre-order purchasers will be sent a link to a free download EP on the day of the album's release

Pre-order now for October 10th shipping

never heard Alan White in such experimental music as in this album with Levin and David Torn - awesome stuff. Also wondering if the new Ozrics will add something to their catalogue... not much development in the past 20 years: they are the Status Quo of the underground Wink

Can we have more information on re-issue of The Sky Move Sideways LP ?? Which one of the versions is being re-issued?
Is it the 3 LP that came with the extra 7" Men of Wood?. Is it Black ?
What about Blue like the original Delirium ed? That could  be way too cool. Thanks.  Smiley

Why not do both? That's what was done Lightbulb Sun and In Absentia (among others). Numbered colored/marbled vinyl and then a standard black version. That way people can choose for themselves (and an album re-release as big as TSMS should have no trouble selling).

I don't think they will do both colored and black. Lightbuld made from Tonefload and was the 1st vinyl edition. I believe kscope will stick to one version only and that will be black (I was hoping for colours) cause there were noise problems in the past with some colored editions, and if you consider how weird and sound freaks we the PT fans are we give them no choise but to do it in virgin black for better sound results. Anyway, as long they are new, 180 grams gatefold vinyls with innesrleeves I don't care. I hope they will stick with the 3 Lp versions.

Yes!  Fine with that as I do like the translucency of the blue foabp.

Have not noticed a sound difference between translucent colored and black PT vinyl so translucent colored is fine by me.

I thought that weight was more important than color if the album is made with high standards or quality.  I'm mistaken??

Coloured vinyl wears very quickly and is usually made of cheaper material (scraps/shavings). Black virgin vinyl is the best for sound quality and nothing beats it.

IMO weight has little bearing on sound quality, its a selling gimmick. Audiophile heavy weight pressing blah blah blah.
Take albums like Pink Floyds The Final Cut or Roger Waters Pro's and Con's which are pressed on vinyl thats no thicker than a fag paper but are 2 of the most amazing sounding albums on vinyl.
I've yet to hear a coloured vinyl better the same album on black.

Thats not to say Kscope or Bsheds heavy weight pressings aren't great, cos they are.   Smiley

I think that thickness has more to do with warping than sound.
I remember in the old days, many years ago, having a few albums that became "wavy" after they were left too long in the car in the summer or too close to the heater. The people these days prefers 150-180 and up as opposed to the 90 gr of the olden days.

I do think there's difference between solid colored vinyl and translucent vinyl.

Virgin vinyl is translucent.

If we want to be picky here, the actual composition of a vinyl record is a that it is a mixture of poly vinyl chloride (PVC) and poly vinyl acetate (PVA) with the largest component being PVC. Both these polymers in their virgin state are transparent or perhaps slightly translucent in some cases. Cutting the actual grooves certainly reduces transparency. So a 'pure' vinyl record is not black at all. However, to modify properties of the vinyl other materials are added in small amounts including carbon black (giving the characteristic black colour) and some other stabilisers etc. Carbon black itself does little to actually affect the physical qualities of the polymer other than as a colouring agent but I know that ears of audophiles are far superior to mine and there may be nuances related to the total composition of the system that make a black record apparently sound better or perhaps that should be 'sound like it should'. Certainly the greater the variability of the base material through adding recycled material or other pigments with possibly larger particle sizes could affect sound reproduction.

Burningshed now has a 24bit high resolution audio store for downloads in 48 kHz and 96 kHz. For playback, keep in mind you will need a media player and audio device that supports that bit-depth and sampling rates. Two really good ones are Foobar2000 and JRiver Media Center, though I recommend Foobar because, well, it is free and I really have yet to find anything that beats it. It can be configured with add-ons to play almost any kind of audio format. I even play my DVD-Audio discs with it.

Most recent computers have sound cards that support these resolutions and decode to analog for the headphone or line-out jack on your computer. Though, based on my experiences, you may not truly hear the benefit of high resolution audio without a good digital connection (AES, S/PDIF RCA or Toslink) from your computer to a quality stereo receiver or digital audio converter. And furthermore, quality loud speakers or studio monitors don't hurt. This is getting into computer audiophile territory, one of which I am quite familiar and have experienced and shared on this forum. Keep in mind, if you are already an owner of the DVD-Audio releases and have a DVD-Audio player, you already own these high resolution stereo releases in physical form. Granted, some are getting very difficult to find. I am hoping Burningshed will be able to offer everything that Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson has released in high resolution at some point. For example, the store is still lacking the 24bit versions of Stupid Dream, In Absentia and Deadwing.

Great news! Thanks for making purchases a lot more convenient, Pete! I hope this helps with business.

Also, if I might ask, is there any news on when there will be new editions to the Burning Shed 24 download store? Would like to see Deadwing added since there is a high resolution 24 bit stereo version on the DVD-Audio release, but unfortunately finding the physical disc is becoming nearly impossible. I am also hoping to see In Absentia released for download in 24 bit stereo, but the DVD-Audio only has the surround tracks in 24 bit, not the stereo version. But, then again, Steven might have the 24 bit studio master to make it available for the store. And, of course, would like to see much more 24 bit studio masters become available related to all things Porcupine Tree, King Crimson, Anathema, Opeth, and so on, etc.

As always, thanks for making Burning Shed full of awesomeness! Smiley

Damn, didn't know they'd stock the new Anathema vinyl. The only good news here for me is that the pre-order is for white and I want it on black (which I've ordered directly from the label pressing it). Otherwise I would have cancelled that and pre-ordered with the shed!

  Huh
Called the band off? Like split up? As far as I know they have a new album coming out next year.

And for funerals to come is just a re-issue.
