I've always considered Strip the Soul the heaviest thing they've done, but the new album tops it. Never thought Deadwing was very heavy at all.

Maybe you should add Futile.

It depends on what your definition of  "heavy" is... Strip The Soul has more than one that qualify, I especially like the riff in the ending section, makes me think of impending doom

Where's Deadwing? Or Signify (live)? It sounded really heavy to me live...

Circle of Manias and Arriving Somewhere.

Anesthetize isn't that heavy tbh, just some derivative (Well, not derivative, can't think of a better word) metal riffing for 8 bars and then it goes slightly heavier for another 8.

I voted for Bonnie the Cat and Strip the Soul. I'm sure most know why about BTC; but as for Strip the soul, the one segment at the end I find very heavy.

For me, even though I've marked several tracks on the list, Circle of Manias clongs the most ot the ''metal'' definition.
Sounds great around 1:20. The matter is, it's heavy not just in sevral places, like other songs, but on the whole. By the way, Orichidia may also have been included into the poll, pretty, pretty heavish, even though it's from the Maitland era Cool

I don't think those songs are THAT heavy.
They're heavy, but not like, for example, Anesthetize, Circle of Manias and Futile.

What about Mother and Child Divided? I saw it live and the way the synchronized the heavy guitar riff with GH's drumming really made you feel it in your chest. Futile would be a close second.

You can find Mother And Child Divided on the DVD-A version of the Deadwing album. Futile is on the DVD-A version of the In Absentia album and also it can be downloaded from Burning Shed. And Arriving.. DVD has them both.

The current state of votes looks rather strange. I wonder if people are voting on the basis of what they like or don't like, rather than simply what they think is heaviest?

I voted for Anesthetize and Shallow. One of those songs I placed at No. 2 when I compiled my top 40 PT songs, the other is probably my least favourite PT track.

Hello. Voted for The Incident. Anesthetize is heavy, yes, but it's Alex Lifeson on the solo, not SW. ? Correct? Thus my vote. Thanks.
