Disappearing posts (only a few this time)
04. Aug 2008 at 18:09

I am finding that sometimes I make a post, and next time I visit the forum it isn't there. I am wondering if there's a software bug, as I don't think any of the vanished posts would have been deleted as they were in no way controversial.

I know it's possible to Preview Post and spend some time getting it right, and then forget to post the thing, and I've done that in the past, but I am conscious of that now and am usually very careful to make sure I actually click Post.

Can you see these posts in the thread directly after you've posted?

Sorry for the delay in responding to this:

I did think I saw the post immediately after I posted it. It's possible of course that I was only looking at the preview, as they look the same (hence the term "Preview" I guess). In any case it's been a long time since I had the problem.

That just happened to me! I suppose it's a glitch of some sort, and yes my post was there for some time and then it disappeared by itself. (Meaning I'm sure I didn't delete it)

If a post disappears, it's probably because it has been deleted by a moderator or an admin...

To the moderators or Simon:
A recent thread disappeared. I'm sure it was deleted by the moderators for some reason.
Couple of questions: How do you know what happened or can we have a clarification or explanation ??
Why it was deleted? Knowing why may help keep things flowing appropriately, I think....
Do you loose post counts or you stay where you where before the postings to the thread where deleted??
thanks.. Smiley
