Donations...
25. Sep 2007 at 19:16

Please, please forgive me if this has been previously covered, I looked and couldn't find what I needed.

Is there any other way to donate to this site other than PayPal?
I really don't want to use them, however I would at some point in
the near future like to donate to this forum; which I see as a beyond
useful tool in the world of all things Porcupine Tree.

Thanks,
Chris

OK, if anyone can advise me on PayPal alternatives then I'll check them out and see what we can sort out for people who don't want to you PayPal.

The main problem I've found with other services in the past is they charge crazy exchange rate fees.

Any suggestions?

Someone who runs another forum I visit suggested Moneybookers.com. Apparently they had a good reputation at the time he investigated, which was a couple of years ago. This guy does not have a single good word for PayPal.

Forum admin, is there any word yet on this?

Like a few other members, I am thinking of donating to the forum, as it has given me a lot in terms of musical enjoyment and social chit-chat, but I am simply reluctant to use PayPal as I have heard so many bad reports.

Barring any other solution, if you gave us a name and a physical address couldn't we simply use old-fashioned snail mail and send a cheque?

In UK pounds?

That's a major advantage of PayPal: it deals with currency conversion for you.

Personally, I've never had a problem with PayPal, and I use it frequently.

My payments with Paypal (including my donation to PTF) are fast, secure and effective. I had to use moneybookers a few years ago and it was a pain, although that might have changed now.

PayPal is safe and secure. I've been using it for years and never had any problems. PayPal is the only service available to send donations to the forum.

If we did accept cheques, which we don't, there would have to be from a UK bank in UK pounds, so that wouldn't work for anyone outside of the UK.

If you don't want to use PayPal, then I'm afraid there is currently no way to donate to the PTF.
