Section just for pictures?
06. Nov 2005 at 22:43

I know a lot of people like to post pictures from shows and other stuff too so maybe it might be a good idea to have a section just for that?  Just a suggestion...

I suppose one could ask whether the Mods' link-only rule for posting images would apply for this thread. Just asking.

i was thinking about this too - there is always someone who has good gig pics, pics of meetings, etc but it would be too much to trawl through everything here to find what just might be posted...
A section for fan-taken - non-copywrited pics would be ideal.
The only real problem i could think of initially is space on the server - would it suddenly or quickly become overloaded?...
This could be solved though if fans kept putting them up on other places as they already are but for us here to have a thread just for these links?...

 Mr Labcoat?...can we?

A sticky thread for links (like the interviews one) is a good idea. No pics directly in this forum though as it takes up too much space and for people like me who use non-broadband connections some of the time it slows up the forum loading.

Cheers,

Not that you're taking votes Wink but I agree.  Links to images elsewhere, but no images hosted in the forum itself.

This may belong in the gadget section since IE is the only place I can't find to do this, but is there anyway to disable certain photo's on here?  I think some people would find that useful here.

Thanks!

Ah yes, just like you said. It appears my eyes have been damaged by too much bouncing. I have no idea, apart from suggesting they use something that isn't rubbish.

Well, if you can't use another browser, I'm presuming that augmenting it with other applications might also be out of the question. The problem is that IE is not very extensible, so  while you can use another application that uses the IE engine (eg the Avant browser) or one that works alongside IE (such as AdMuncher) there's really nothing quite the same as a Firefox plugin that will do the job.

You could always put a Linux box on the network, install a web proxy on it and set IE to use that. Then pre-cache an image of your preference to substitute for the offensive one. Sneaky. Smiley
